Mockingbird is a ministry that seeks to connect the Christian faith with the realities of everyday life in as fresh and down-to-earth a way possible.

Are we called Mockingbird? The name was inspired by the mockingbird’s peculiar gift for mimicking the cries of other birds. In a similar way, we seek to repeat the message we have heard – God’s word of grace and forgiveness.

Via every medium available! At present this includes (but is not limited to) a daily weblog, regular conferences and meetings, and an ongoing publications initiative.

At present, we employ one full-time staff, David Zahl and one part-time staff, Ethan Richardson. They are helped and supported by a large number of contributing volunteers and writers. Our board of directors is chaired by Mr. Thomas Becker.

For the first three years of operations, our offices were located in Calvary Episcopal Church in New York City (which explains the “nyc” in some of our material). In 2010, we moved to Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville, VA. To read a letter from our board of directors about the move, click here.

Mockingbird was incorporated in June 2007 and is currently in its fifth year of operation.
